Welcome to my “London – Central” pub section. I have personally been to these pubs to review them, so this is not a copy and paste review. These reviews are in order of where I frequent the most. So if you see me here, say hi!

The Garrick Arms
You will not get a better welcome in central London than from the manager of the Garrick Arms, Amina, who is, as I describe her: “the mad Italian”. This madness is true, but the madness is all good! Located just outside of the dire tourist trap of Leicester Square by the Garrick Theatre on Charing Cross road this welcome to all pub is a little treasure for food, atmosphere and value. Run by the Greene King chain, the pub has a 5* rating on Tripadvisor for the last 10 reviews, yes, every one 5 out of 5 (as of 19 April 24) and is justifiably top of my list for “London – Central” pub reviews.

The Marquis
Where else in London are you going to be able to walk into a pub and listen to all kinds of music played on an old school record player with real vinyl records, anything from Dolly Parton to AC/DC can be heard in all it’s natural glory. The character of the pub is excellent with numerous posters, signs and memorabilia throughout and has a small outside section. The Marquis is set near to Covent Garden on Chandos Place which is a small stones throw from Charing Cross station. Getting an excellent 4.8* on the last 10 Tripadvisor reviews (as of 19 April 24) this validates The Marquis as my second place go to central London pub.
